Mad Men 4.10 “Hands and Knees” Review
The thing that is most admirable about Mad Men is their ability to narrate stories which very few can come up with. But this show failed to do so in two different occasions in this week’s episode “Hands and Knees”. As soon as it was discovered that Greg was going to Vietnam, it was evident that Joan would now be having more time to spend with Roger. It is worth wondering whether this will make a good plot or bring good stories in a future.

The same can be said about Roger and Lucy Strike. When it had become clear that Roger had left her in SCDP, it was inevitable that Lee Garner Jr. would be snapping ties with the agency very soon in future. Moreover, the way in which Roger had been acting, it seemed that the company would step aside only to have Roger left with nothing to do in the company. Now talking about Joanie’s pregnancy, it seemed she had try to get it terminate it and her lying to a stranger in the hospital proved it otherwise. The question which arises was that if she was so embarrassed it, she could have thought a lot before going through all this. Another thing to notice in the episode was Lane being thrashed by his father. It was clear that his father didn’t like his son’s socializing habits. Though it was enjoyable seeing Don and Pryces socializing in a Playboy club, it was a story intended to set a final meeting, where Lane revealed that he was going to sort out his family problems.

The one to watch for this week was John Hamm and Roger turned from cool to being out of his mind. Moreover, Don signed the papers given by his secretary, without reading it, which is a usual thing. On the other hand, Betty lies for Don and tells Henry about the government officials coming in Don’s house. Meanwhile Don gets panic as he sees two guys in suits coming in his apartment. Luckily, Faye is present to comfort Don in such a situation.
